v1.2 Implementation Review

19 October 2026. Pre-publication implementation and verification record. The owner subsequently authorized committing and deploying this update; Git history and the matching Pages workflow run provide release evidence. Chapter approval statuses remain separate.

Baseline

Started from clean main at a7b88a8. There were no pre-existing uncommitted changes. Chapter 12 removal, seven reassigned slide-source references, eleven quizzes, and three legacy redirects were already implemented and published. They were preserved, not repeated. Fixed historical measurement snapshots remain unchanged.

Chapter 6 also corrects ACT-003 from security training to system orientation, matching its diagram and table. It returns to in-review for these substantive changes. Chapters 2 and 3 retain approval; no new approval is claimed.

Knowledge Documentation Decision

Existing sources already explained terminology, chapter identity, and implementation. A small source map was added to connect those homes rather than create a parallel architecture manual. The owner-supplied decision register records direction dated 19 October 2026, not invented historical architecture approvals. No new historical ADR was fabricated.

Verification

The integration checks are recorded here separately from owner approval.

Astro check: 69 files, zero errors, warnings, or hints.
Production build: successful with the existing large-JavaScript-chunk warning. No new runtime or npm dependency was added.
Site suites: learning (including scenarios and architecture), scenarios, content/links, homepage/decks, contracts, dashboard, and budget passed.
Python root suite: 17 tests passed.
PDF-focused suite: 11 tests passed. This was not a new full-book render or a cross-format visual audit.
Working-copy growth report: eleven chapters, 9,080 prose words. Stored only under ignored build/tutorial-v1-2/growth; published measurements still describe committed history.
git diff —check: clean.
Active-source search for removed Chapter 12 references finds only intentional redirects and their tests. Historical snapshots and the imported baseline audit retain historical observations.
No source chapters were duplicated into Astro; no generated reports, node_modules, or dist files are included.

Browser Evidence and Limits

The in-app browser was used at 1440px desktop and 390px mobile widths for chapters 5/6/8/9/11, the agent reference, homepage, and architecture deck. Checks found no page-level horizontal overflow in those samples. Chapter 8’s Mermaid map rendered. Screenshots of desktop feedback and the mobile metadata scenario were inspected.

Interactive checks covered empty submission, incorrect/correct feedback, native radio keyboard selection, hint/retry clearing and focus, and the Chapter 9 guided action and keyboard return to free exploration. AMD-001 remained proposed; DEL-101 was directly linked and DEL-102 remained a traversal-derived review candidate.

A standalone Playwright launch could not run in this sandbox: its bundled browser was absent and installed Chrome exited during launch. In-app browser checks were used instead. No-JavaScript forms/explanations and explorer alternatives were checked in built HTML tests, not in a browser with JavaScript disabled. A full screen-reader, contrast/zoom, performance, or WCAG conformance audit is not claimed. No live deployment was performed.
